So what markets are actively writing yachts and boats in Florida today? Basically there are Four markets writing new yacht and boat polices; two domestic companies that are very “picky” and two international markets that charge high rates, high windstorm deductibles and have policies with restrictions, exclusions and a long list of items and equipment that are heavily depreciated in the event of a claim. Not a lot of desirable options for the consumer to choose from.
